Our Story

Solari Hemp, founded in 2018 in Longmont, Colorado, began as a fully integrated farm-to-shelf hemp company with on-premise growing, extracting, shipping, and sales/marketing capabilities. Solari Hemp maintains full control over the production/development process from start to finish.

Solari is bringing innovation to the hemp industry with its genetics, and high-quality effective products that can easily be incorporated into your daily health regimen. Two of the company’s co-founders have multi-generational families in Colorado, along with farmers who are deeply rooted in the hemp farming sector. Solari offers a full line of THC-Free CBD products. Scott L. Varner

Chief Executive Officer

With twenty-plus years of successful business leadership experience in the consumer brands and technology arena, Scott has worked in market-leading CPG enterprises such as The Gallo Wine Company, Nestle USA, Diageo USA, and The Mike's Hard Lemonade Company as well as successful startups including Trumer Pils, Pax Labs Inc., and JUUL Labs Inc. Scott has a history of success in building, growing, and turning around businesses, creating high-performing sales organizations and launching new products. Scott created a national sales organization at Pax Labs / JUUL Labs that grew sales revenue from $22M to $55M in the first two years. He established the go-to-market sales strategy for the premium vaporization device JUUL that now commands the largest US dollar share in its category with retail sales of approximately $3B. Scott also revitalized an underperforming Mike's Hard Lemonade® brand in the Southwestern U.S. market, and, prior to that, led the launch of Trumer Pils® which has become a top specialty beer in the Western U.S. Scott has excellent trade relations with leading U.S. distributors and retailers, such as Circle K, Sheetz, McLane Co., and Core-Mark. Most recently, Scott has helped launch the super-premium, closed end vape delivery system Glas which is now carried by over 8,000 retailers across the US.

Jake Salazar

Co-Founder/Chief Development Officer

As a 5th generation Colorado Native Jake started his business ventures by owning, operating and selling the Benihanas in Broomfield, Colorado. Jake was named one of the 100 most influential people in the cannabis industry by High Times Magazine in 2018 and 2019 for his accomplishments over the past 12 years in the cannabis genetics and Hemp business. Jake founded his first Cannabis business MMJ America in 2008 and sold it in 2017. He started it with one store and expanded into multiple markets as one of the first multinational cannabis brands. During that time his company was awarded 20 cannabis cups for an array of different genetics and products. Jake proudly sits on the board of the Colorado Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and serves as the Finance Chairman on the Executive committee.

Colin Gallagher

Co-Founder/Chief Operating Officer

Colin oversees the daily operations of the company.  Colin grew up around consumer product goods and convenience retail operations.  He previously served as the Director of Operations and Business Development for Smoker Friendly International.  Prior to Smoker Friendly, Colin spent seven years with a Big 4 Accounting firm’s International Tax Services group.
